Children with a disability

Children with a disability2019-10-23T14:38:12+02:00

In Uganda people with a disability live very isolated, especially the children. The are abandonned to their fate and there are hardly any provisions for them to make their lives somewhat more enjoyable. This is especially the case in Ndegeya. Children are often locked away at home; having a disabled child is a taboo. These children have no prospect to a better life.

The Joanne Foundation tries to give disabled children chances of a better future by means of education and providing their living environment with information about how to treat these children. For some children education is not within reach. A customized program is offered in Joanne’s Children Corner sothat these children can develop themselves further. The Joanne Foundation also supports a school for deaf children in Masaka.
