In October optometrist Derk Jan te Kiefte and his wife Christine went to Ndegeya again to continue the eye care project which they set up two years ago. They were able to do a lot of eye measurements at different schools and they found that many children needed glasses. As soon as Derk Jan and Christine have returned to the Netherlands they will prepare these glasses and send them back to Uganda. Michael will see to it that these glasses are delivered to the right children. Derk Jan also gave a tutorial at Michael’s nursing school. Derk Jan and Christine also consulted with various hospitals hoping to work together in the interest of good eye care in Ndegeya.
