Besides giving general subjects management and teachers of the deaf school wanted to be able to give vocational subjects very much. This will enable them to offer their students better opportunities for their future because having learned a profession the students will sooner find a job.

Unfortunately vocational subjects couldn’t be given anymore because sewingmachines were broken and a lot of materials couldn’t be bought due to lack of finances.

Thanks to sponsors the Joanne Foundation has been able to finance the repair of the sewingmachines and the purchase of materials resulting in the fact that the students now have a choice between hairdressing, cooking, sewing and knitting. Using the knittingmachine the students are taught to knit sweaters which are part of the schooluniform. They are also taught to make and decorate bags which are for sale, the proceeds will be used to buy new materials.
